I made this book after travelling to Lake Mungo in Western NSW in 2008 with a group of artists. Apostle birds are very sociable and unafraid of people, they move around in family groups, hence the name, often 12 in a group. The book has text on the back of the concertina folds, describing the birds and their habitat.
